Product Add-ons
Add-ons let buyers add extras to their order alongside a ticket — parking passes, camping pitches, merchandise, drink tokens, VIP upgrades. Add-ons appear nested under the ticket they belong to at checkout.
How Add-ons Work
An add-on is a regular ticket or product that you attach to a “parent” product. When a buyer selects the parent, its add-ons appear beneath it and can be added to the same order. Buyers can’t purchase an add-on-only product without its parent.
Creating an Add-on
- Create the add-on itself as a normal product (Tickets & Products → Create) — for example a “Parking Pass” product
- If it should only be sold alongside another product, open its Add-ons row and turn on Only available as an add-on
- Edit the parent product (e.g. your “Weekend Ticket”), open its Add-ons row, and select the add-on under Add-on products
A product can be attached as an add-on to multiple parents, and a parent can have multiple add-ons.
If you skip the “Only available as an add-on” switch, the product is sold both on its own and as an add-on — the quantities stay in sync since it’s the same product.
Pricing, Taxes, and Limits
Add-ons behave like any other product:
- All pricing types — Paid, Free, Donation, or Tiers
- Taxes and fees apply through the usual Taxes & fees settings
- Order limits (min/max per order) work the same way
- Stock is tracked normally — a sold-out add-on shows as sold out
Tickets vs Products as Add-ons
- An add-on created as a Ticket gets its own attendee, QR code, and check-in — good for workshop seats or VIP sessions
- An add-on created as a Product doesn’t create an attendee — good for merchandise, parking, or camping
What Buyers See
At checkout, add-ons appear in an Add-ons section under their parent product. Until the buyer selects the parent, the add-ons are disabled with a note (“Add Weekend Ticket first”). If the buyer removes the parent from their order, any add-on-only products are reset to zero. An add-on that is also sold on its own (the Only available as an add-on switch left off) keeps its quantity, because it is a standalone item too.
Tips
- Duplicating an event copies add-on relationships along with the products
- The product form’s live preview doesn’t show add-on nesting — open your public event page to check how add-ons appear under their parent
