Frequently asked questions about ticketing fees

How much does Eventbrite charge per ticket in 2026?
Eventbrite charges a service fee of 3.7% + $1.79 per ticket, plus payment processing of 2.9% on the total order amount. On a single $50 ticket, that’s $3.64 in service fees plus about $1.56 in payment processing — roughly $5.20 total. For a $100 ticket, it’s $5.49 + $3.06 = about $8.55 total. Free events have no fees.
How are Eventbrite payment processing fees calculated?
Eventbrite charges 2.9% for payment processing on the total order amount (including the service fee). This is charged per order, not per ticket. So if someone buys 3 tickets at $50 each, the payment processing is 2.9% of the full order total, not 2.9% per ticket. This makes multi-ticket orders slightly cheaper per ticket on the processing side.
What are the cheapest ticketing platforms for events?

How do Dice fees compare to Eventbrite?
Dice’s default US rate is 13% of the face value with payment processing included (venues on a partnership deal negotiate their own). Eventbrite charges 3.7% + $1.79 per ticket plus 2.9% payment processing per order. On cheaper tickets, Eventbrite’s fixed $1.79 fee makes it proportionally more expensive. What does Resident Advisor charge for ticket sales?
Resident Advisor no longer publishes its fee. Its last known rate is 10%, included in the buyer-facing price and covering payment processing, which is what this calculator uses. On a $30 club ticket, that’s about $3.00 per ticket in fees.
Can I sell tickets online with no fees for the organizer?
Yes. With Hi.Events, organizers can pay $0 in platform fees by passing the small 1.25% + $0.60 fee to ticket buyers. Free events have zero platform fees. Stripe payment processing (~2.9% + 30¢) can also be passed to buyers.
Which platforms pay out as tickets sell?
Hi.Events does, because you connect your own Stripe account and receive funds as tickets sell. Most other platforms (Eventbrite, Dice, Resident Advisor) typically hold your money and pay out days or weeks after the event.
Is this calculator accurate?
This calculator uses publicly available US fee structures as of 2026. Eventbrite and Humanitix publish their rates, and Dice publishes a default rate in its self sign-up terms (partnership deals are negotiated). Resident Advisor no longer publishes a rate, so its ~10% figure is its last known one, and See Tickets’ is an estimate.
