On a $30 ticket in the US, the lowest all-in fee any organizer can get is TryBooking at $1.69.

The cheapest platform changes with the ticket price
A flat fee is a big share of a cheap ticket and a small share of a dear one; a percentage is the reverse. This is the lowest all-in fee any organizer can get at each price in the US, leaving out rates that only some organizations qualify for.

How to read a ticketing fee
The fixed part
Most fees are a percentage plus a fixed amount per ticket. The fixed amount is what makes a cheap ticket expensive to sell: a $1.79 fee is 9% of a $20 ticket and 1.8% of a $100 one.
Card processing
Some platforms fold card processing into their fee and some leave it to your own Stripe or payment account. A 3% fee with processing on top can cost more than a 5% fee that includes it. Every total on this site adds processing to both sides.
Floors and caps
A minimum per ticket (Skiddle, Fatsoma, DICE in the UK) raises the fee on cheap tickets. A cap (Universe, Tito, pretix) lowers it on expensive ones. Both are applied in the tables here.
Who pays it
On most platforms you can add the fee at checkout so the buyer pays it, or absorb it in your price. Either way it comes out of the same pocket in the end: what the buyer will pay for a ticket.
Tax on the fee
UK and EU platforms often quote fees before VAT, and Australian ones before GST. The tables note it where the platform does. It is a tax on the fee, not on the ticket.
Negotiated rates
DICE negotiates its own terms with venues on a partnership deal, and Humanitix and TicketSource give registered charities a discount. The tables use the standard published rate, which is what a new organizer gets.
