Duplicating an Event
You can duplicate any event in Hi.Events to carry over its tickets, settings, questions, and more, instead of setting up a similar event from scratch.
How to Duplicate an Event
- Go to the Events list
- Find the event you want to duplicate
- Click the three-dot menu (or look for the Duplicate option)
- Select Duplicate Event
In the dialog, set the new event’s Name (pre-filled from the original and required) and Description, then choose what to copy.
The duplicate is always created as a Draft, so it is never public until you publish it.
Event Dates
For a single event, the Start Date and End Date fields are pre-filled from the original event and copied across as-is unless you change them in the dialog — so always check them.
For recurring events the date fields aren’t shown at all; dates come from the occurrence copy instead (see below).
What You Can Copy
The duplication dialog lets you choose exactly what to bring over:
- Products (tickets & add-ons) — all ticket types, prices, and settings
- Questions — registration questions and their configuration
- Event settings — checkout, SEO, email, payment, and all other settings
- Promo codes — all discount codes and their rules
- Capacity assignments — shared capacity groups
- Check-in lists — check-in list configuration
- Event cover image — the banner image
- Ticket logo — custom ticket design logo
- Webhooks — event-level webhook configuration
- Affiliates — affiliate codes and their settings
- Occurrences (future only) — for recurring events; see below
What Is Not Copied
- Orders and attendees — the new event starts fresh with no sales data
- Reports — analytics begin from zero
Recurring Events
Duplicating a recurring event copies future dates only, with sold counts reset to zero. Past dates are not carried over. Add-on relationships between products are preserved.
Tips
- Review all settings after duplication — dates, ticket quantities, and promo code expiry dates may need updating
- Duplication is useful for recurring events like monthly meetups or annual conferences
