Managing Capacity

Capacity management lets you set limits on how many attendees can attend your event or specific parts of it. You can create shared capacity groups that span multiple ticket types.

How to Get There

  1. Open your event
  2. Click Capacity Management in the left sidebar (under Guest Management)

How Capacity Works

There are two levels of capacity control:

Per-Ticket Limits

When creating a ticket, you can set a Quantity Available. Once that many are sold, the ticket shows as sold out.

Shared Capacity Groups

A capacity group lets multiple ticket types share a single pool of availability. For example, if your venue holds 500 people, you can create a capacity group of 500 and assign both “General Admission” and “VIP” tickets to it. Once 500 total tickets are sold across both types, all tickets in the group show as sold out.

Creating a Capacity Group

  1. Click + Create
  2. Enter a name (e.g. “Main Hall”, “Day 1”)
  3. Set the capacity — the maximum number of attendees
  4. Select which ticket types belong to this group

Use Cases

  • Venue capacity — ensure you do not oversell beyond what the space can hold
  • Multi-day events — set separate capacity for each day
  • Session tracking — limit attendance for specific workshops or breakout sessions
  • Tiered access — VIP and general tickets sharing the same total capacity

Tips

  • A ticket can belong to only one capacity group at a time
  • The capacity group limit is independent of the per-ticket quantity limit — both apply
  • Monitor capacity from the dashboard to see how close you are to selling out
