New in v2Recurring events

Recurring event ticketing.
Every date on one page.

Set up the schedule once, every Tuesday at 8 or three tours a day, and Hi.Events creates every date. Buyers pick a date and a time, and each date keeps its own capacity, prices and venue. The fee is added at checkout and paid by the buyer, so it costs you nothing.

Schedule

Set the rule once

Choose how often it repeats, which days and what times, and how long it runs. A live count shows how many sessions you are about to create before you save.

  • Every 2 weeks, the first Friday of the month, or the 1st and the 15th
  • Several times a day, each with a label like "Matinee"
  • Runs for a number of dates, or until an end date

Each date

Every date can be different

The schedule fills your calendar, and any date can then change on its own. Raise the price on a Saturday, move one week to another room, or take a ticket off sale for a single night.

  • Capacity, price and ticket quantity per date
  • A different venue, or online, for any date
  • Bulk edit times, length, capacity, label and venue

Buyers

Pick a date, then a time

Your event page shows the next dates, with a full calendar a tap away. If a day has more than one session, buyers choose the time, then check out for just that session.

  • Show how many places are left, or keep it hidden
  • Sold-out dates offer the waitlist instead
  • Share a link that opens on one date

Capacity

The room, and the tickets in it

Each date has a capacity, and each ticket has a quantity that is either per date or shared across the whole run. Whichever is lower is what you can sell.

12 mats in a studio

  • Capacity 12 per date
  • One drop-in ticket, no limit of its own
  • 12 places on every date

An early bird for each date

  • Capacity 20 per date
  • Early bird 5 and Standard 15, both per date
  • Raise Standard to 25 and it still stops at 20

A theatre by section

  • No overall capacity
  • Stalls 100, Circle 50, Balcony 30, per date
  • 180 per performance

Places and merchandise

  • Capacity 25 per date
  • 30 T-shirts across the whole run
  • The T-shirts never limit a date
When plans change

Cancel one night, keep the run

Move a date

Change the time and Hi.Events offers a pre-filled message for the people booked on it. Nothing is sent until you send it.

Change the schedule

Re-run it whenever you like. Dates you have edited or cancelled, and dates with orders, are left as they are.

Clock changes

8pm stays 8pm in your time zone on both sides of the change, for every date in the run.

FAQ

Recurring events, answered

What do recurring events cost?
Nothing for you. A recurring event is charged like any other: 1.25% + $0.60 per paid ticket, added at checkout and paid by the buyer, and nothing on free tickets. There is no charge per date, no monthly fee and no plan to upgrade. If you would rather absorb the fee, you can build it into your price instead.See pricing →
How many dates can one event have?
Up to 1,200. A schedule can repeat daily, weekly, monthly or yearly, with up to 24 time slots a day, and Hi.Events creates the dates in the background while you carry on. You can add single dates to the schedule as well.Recurring events in the help center →
Can different dates have different prices?
Yes. On any date you can set a price for that date only, change how many of a ticket it gets, or switch a ticket off for that date. A Saturday matinee can cost less than the Friday night on the same schedule.
How does capacity work across dates?
Each date has a capacity, the size of the room, and each ticket has a quantity. You choose whether that quantity is per date (20 every date) or shared across the whole run (20 in total), and whichever limit is lower is what can be sold. Merchandise and other products never count toward a date's capacity.Managing capacity →
What happens if I cancel a date?
Everyone booked on it gets an email, its waitlist is cancelled, and you can refund their orders in the same step. If an order covers several dates, it is left for you to refund by hand, so nobody loses the other dates they paid for. The rest of the run carries on as normal.
Can I change the schedule after tickets have sold?
Yes. Edit any single date, or change many at once with bulk edit. If you change the time of a date that has attendees, Hi.Events offers you a pre-filled message to send them, and nothing goes out on its own. When you re-run the schedule, dates you have edited or cancelled, and dates with orders, are kept.
What happens when the clocks change?
Nothing you need to fix. A class at 8pm stays at 8pm in the event's time zone on both sides of the change, and buyers see times in the event's time zone. How we built it →
Can each date be at a different venue?
Yes. A date can use the event's location, a different venue, or be online with its own connection details. Bulk edit can move a whole set of dates at once.
Does it work with reserved seating and the box office?
Yes. Every date of a seated event sells its own seats, and the box office picks the date when staff sign in and can switch it at any time. Both are in early access on Hi.Events Cloud.Reserved seating →Box office →
Can I sell memberships or class packs?
No. Hi.Events sells tickets for each date, which suits drop-ins, courses, shows and tours. A studio that runs on monthly memberships or credit packs is better served by studio software built around them.
Are recurring events in the open-source version?
Yes. Recurring events are part of the open-source release, so they work the same on Hi.Events Cloud and on a self-hosted install.Open-source ticketing →
