The whole product is in one public repository. Audit how payments, attendee data and check-in work before you trust it with an event.

Every attendee and order is exportable at any time, and never sold or marketed to. The list you build is an asset you keep.

What open source licence does Hi.Events use?
Hi.Events is released under AGPL-3.0 with additional terms. You can self-host, modify and use the code freely, provided you keep the “Powered by Hi.Events” link visible on public-facing pages and publish any modifications you make. Is the self-hosted version the full product?
Yes. The GitHub repository is the full codebase: there is no licence key, no private repo and no premium modules. A commercial licence changes your legal terms, not your software. Hi.Events Cloud runs the same code.
Is there a managed cloud option?
Yes. Hi.Events Cloud is the same software, hosted, updated and backed up for you. Free events cost nothing. Paid tickets are 1.25% plus a small fixed amount per ticket (60¢ in the US, €0.50 in the EU, 45p in the UK, A$0.85 in Australia), with no monthly fee and no contract.See the full pricing →
What do I need to self-host Hi.Events?
Docker is the recommended route: the all-in-one image runs the whole application with one Docker Compose command. Underneath it is a Laravel (PHP 8.3+) backend, a React frontend and a PostgreSQL database, which you can also deploy separately for production. How do payments work when I self-host?
You connect your own Stripe account. Payments go from your buyers to your Stripe account and on to your bank; Hi.Events never touches the funds and charges no platform fee. You pay Stripe’s standard processing fees, and your own hosting costs.
Can I remove the “Powered by Hi.Events” branding?
Not on the free version: keeping the link visible is part of the additional licence terms, though you can change logos and colours. Commercial licences remove it. Standard is €499 a year for one organization’s own events; Platform is €2,499 a year for running a ticketing platform for third-party organizers.Compare licences →
Is there support for self-hosted installations?
Community support is on GitHub issues and discussions. Both commercial licences include email support, with priority support on Platform, and custom support packages are available from [email protected].
Can I move between Cloud and self-hosted?
Your attendee and order data is exportable at any time on either. Because Cloud and the open source build are the same software, starting on Cloud does not close the door on running it yourself later, which is the point of choosing open source.
Can I contribute to Hi.Events?
Yes. Bug reports, feature requests, translations and pull requests are all welcome on GitHub, and contributors help shape the roadmap.
