Best event registration software

Most event registration software does the same basic job: a sign-up form, a confirmation email and a list of who is coming. What separates them is what a free registration costs, what a paid one costs once card processing is counted, what you can ask on the form, and when the money reaches you. These are the registration platforms organizers shortlist, with each one's published fee and what it is good at.

Fees and features from each platform's own pricing pages, checked September 2026. We make Hi.Events, so it is listed first and labelled. Every figure for the others is sourced on its comparison page.

§ 03 · FAQ

Choosing event registration software

What does each platform cost on a $30 paid registration?
Counting card processing on every platform, the cheapest on this list in US dollars are Zeffy ($0.00, registered nonprofits only), TryBooking ($1.69), pretix ($1.92), Tito ($2.07). Percentage fees grow with the ticket price and flat fees do not, so the order changes on cheaper and dearer tickets; the table on this page shows every platform in four currencies.
What is the best event registration software?
The one that fits the event. For free meetups and community events, Luma, Eventbrite and Hi.Events all take free registrations at no charge. For conferences that need registration questions per ticket type and an API into other systems, look at Hi.Events, Tito and pretix. Registered nonprofits can look at Zeffy and Humanitix, and schools, clubs and community groups in Australia and New Zealand at TryBooking.
Is there free event registration software?
Yes. Eventbrite, Luma, Tito, Humanitix, Zeffy, TryBooking and Hi.Events do not charge for free registrations, and hosted pretix is free for the first 500 free tickets a year, then €0.50 each. The differences show when you charge for a place: the fee each platform takes, who pays it, and when the money reaches you.
Which registration platforms let the attendee pay the fee?
Hi.Events, Eventbrite and Humanitix let you add the fee at checkout so the attendee pays it, or absorb it. On TryBooking the buyer pays the per-ticket fee and the organizer the percentage by default, and either can be switched. Luma and Tito do not, so the organizer builds the fee into the price. pretix lets you pass on payment provider fees only.
