Best community event ticketing platforms

Clubs, societies and community groups run on small budgets and volunteer time, so the questions are practical: whether free tickets are free, what a paid ticket costs, whether charities pay less, whether the platform also handles donations or memberships, and how soon the money reaches the group. These are the platforms community groups shortlist, with each one's published fee and what it is good at.

Fees and features from each platform's own pricing pages, checked September 2026. We make Hi.Events, so it is listed first and labelled. Every figure for the others is sourced on its comparison page.

§ 03 · FAQ

Choosing a community event ticketing platform

What does each platform cost on a $30 community event ticket?
Counting card processing on every platform, the cheapest on this list in US dollars are Zeffy ($0.00, registered nonprofits only), TryBooking ($1.69), TicketSource ($2.04), Hi.Events ($2.15). Percentage fees grow with the ticket price and flat fees do not, so the order changes on cheaper and dearer tickets; the table on this page shows every platform in four currencies.
Which community event ticketing platform is cheapest for a charity or nonprofit?
Zeffy charges registered nonprofits nothing and covers card fees itself, funded by an optional contribution that buyers are asked for at checkout; it is open to nonprofits in six countries only. Humanitix has lower rates for charities, not-for-profits and schools, and TicketSource has a charity discount. Hi.Events charges every organizer the same fee, 1.25% plus a small fixed amount per paid ticket, with free tickets free.
Which platforms handle donations, memberships and tax receipts?
Zeffy is a fundraising platform first, with donations, raffles, auctions, memberships and tax receipts next to ticketing. TryBooking also runs donation and fundraising pages. Hi.Events has donation tickets, where the buyer chooses the price, but no memberships and no tax receipts.
Are free community events free on every platform?
Yes, with one condition. Hi.Events, Humanitix, Eventbrite, TryBooking, TicketSource and Luma all list free events as free, and Zeffy is free for the nonprofits that can use it.
