5,000+ organizers trust Hi.Events

Charity event ticketing.
More of each ticket reaches the cause.

Hi.Events is online ticketing for charity events, galas and community fundraisers. It costs 1.25% + $0.60 per paid ticket, which you can pass to the buyer, free tickets cost nothing, and card payments settle into the charity's own Stripe account as tickets sell.

Selling 250 tickets at $30? You'd keep $481 more than on Eventbrite.

A low fee the buyer can pay

Add the fee at checkout and it never comes out of the ticket price. There is no monthly fee and no contract, and the fee is the same for every organizer.

Tickets and donations on one page

Put a pay-what-you-can donation ticket next to the paid ones, or offer a top-up donation as an add-on at checkout.

Money in the charity's own account

Card payments settle into your own Stripe account as tickets sell, on your Stripe payout schedule, so the venue deposit and the caterer are not waiting on a payout after the event.

Why organizers move to Hi.Events

We’ve used Hi.Events now for a few events and really love it. It’s also been fun to see improvements roll out as we go. We’re definitely never going back to Eventbrite.

§ 03 · Tickets

How fundraising event tickets are usually set up

One event for the dinner, quiz or gala, with a ticket type for each way of coming and the extras that raise money on the night sold as add-ons.

  • Individual seats

A paid ticket type with the fee added at checkout, so the ticket price is not reduced by it.

  • Tables of ten

A table ticket type sold at the table price, or a seat ticket with a minimum and maximum of ten per order so every guest has a named ticket.

  • Donations

A pay-what-you-can donation ticket, or a top-up donation offered as an add-on next to the tickets.

  • Raffle and auction entries

Add-ons attached to a ticket or sold on their own, each with its own price and stock limit.

  • Corporate tables

Offline payment with instructions you write, and an invoice carrying your own numbering and business details.

  • Sponsors, speakers and guests

Hidden free tickets that only appear with a promo code, or guests added by hand without an order.

Reports

Ticket sales, donations and add-ons, day by day

Sales, tax, fees and promo codes are reported in your event currency, on screen or as a CSV, so the event can be reconciled against your Stripe account.

  • Daily sales, with tax and fees shown separately
  • Broken down by ticket type and add-on, so donations and raffle entries have their own line
  • Promo code performance, code by code
  • Attendees and reports exported as spreadsheets

§ 07 · FAQ

Before you put the fundraiser on sale

Is Hi.Events a low-cost Eventbrite alternative for nonprofits, and is there a charity discount?
The fee is low, and it is the same for everyone. Free tickets cost nothing. Paid tickets are 1.25% plus a small fixed amount per ticket: 60¢ in the US, €0.50 in the EU, 45p in the UK and A$0.85 in Australia, with no monthly fee and no contract. There is no separate nonprofit rate. Several platforms do have one, including Zeffy at 0% for registered nonprofits and Humanitix with lower rates for charities, and the comparison page lists them.See pricing →Charity event ticketing platforms compared →
Can the buyer pay the fee so the charity keeps the ticket price?
Yes. Add the Hi.Events fee at checkout and the buyer pays it on top of the ticket price, so it does not reduce what the charity receives. Stripe charges its card processing separately on your own Stripe account. If you want to cover that as well, you can add a fee of your own at checkout.Taxes and fees →
Can I take donations when I sell fundraiser tickets online?
Yes. A donation ticket lets the buyer choose what to pay, which suits pay-what-you-can entry or a gift from someone who cannot attend. You can also offer a top-up donation as an add-on next to the tickets. Donations are paid into your Stripe account with the ticket money and appear on their own line in the sales reports.Adding tickets and products →
Does Hi.Events issue tax receipts or Gift Aid declarations?
No. Buyers get an order confirmation, and you can turn on invoices with your own business details, but Hi.Events does not issue donation tax receipts, does not collect Gift Aid declarations and has no donor CRM. You can ask a registration question at checkout and export the answers with your attendee list for your own records. If you need receipts issued for you, the comparison page lists fundraising platforms such as Zeffy that include them.Charity event ticketing platforms compared →
How do I sell tables of ten for a gala dinner?
There are two ways. Create a table ticket type at the table price, which gives the host one ticket for the table. Or sell seats with a minimum and maximum of ten per order, so each guest has a named ticket with a QR code and you can ask each of them a dietary question. There is no seating plan, so table numbers are assigned by you outside Hi.Events.Registration questions →
Can a corporate sponsor pay for a table by invoice?
Yes. Turn on offline payment and write the instructions, such as your bank details and a reference. The sponsor checks out without a card, receives tickets marked as awaiting payment, and, with invoicing turned on, gets an invoice with your numbering and business details. You mark the order as paid when the transfer arrives.Offline payments →Invoices and receipts →
Can I sell raffle tickets or auction entries with the event tickets?
You can sell them as add-ons, attached to a ticket or on their own, each with its own price and stock limit. Each order shows what was bought, the product sales report totals them, and you can message everyone who bought a particular add-on. Hi.Events does not run the draw or the bidding, and raffle rules vary by country, so check what applies to you. Zeffy includes raffle and auction tools for nonprofits.Product add-ons →
When does the charity receive the money?
You connect the charity's own Stripe account and card payments settle into it directly as tickets sell, on your Stripe payout schedule. Hi.Events never holds the money, so there is no payout to wait for after the event.Connecting Stripe →
