Before the committee decides

How much does a community event ticketing system cost?
On Hi.Events, free tickets cost nothing. Paid tickets are 1.25% plus a small fixed amount per ticket: 60¢ in the US, €0.50 in the EU, 45p in the UK and A$0.85 in Australia. There is no monthly fee and no contract, so a group that runs two events a year pays nothing in between. You can pass the fee to the buyer at checkout or absorb it, and Stripe charges its card processing separately.See pricing →
Can we mix free, paid and donation tickets on one community event?
Yes. Each ticket type has its own pricing: paid, free, donation or tiered. A donation ticket lets the buyer choose the amount, which is how groups run pay-what-you-can entry. All the ticket types can share one capacity, so the room cannot be oversold.Adding tickets and products →
Can people pay in cash or by bank transfer?
Yes. Turn on offline payment and write the instructions buyers see, such as the group's bank details or who to pay. The ticket is issued straight away and the order stays marked as awaiting payment until you mark it paid. For someone who pays a committee member directly, add them by hand without an order and they appear on the same check-in list.Offline payments →
Can several committee members and volunteers share the work?
Yes. Invite committee members as admins, or as organizers who can manage events but not account settings or billing. When someone leaves the committee, set their status to inactive and they can no longer log in. Does Hi.Events handle memberships or tax receipts for donations?
No. Hi.Events sells tickets. A donation ticket is a ticket with a price the buyer chooses, not a receipted charitable gift, and there is no membership management or renewals. Can a ticketing platform for community events handle a monthly meet-up?

Will Hi.Events list our event for local people to find?
No. There is no consumer marketplace or app. The group sells from its own event page, its website, its newsletter and its socials, which also means the attendee list is not marketed to by anyone else.
What does open source mean for a community group?
The code is public under the AGPL license, so the group is not locked in. You can export attendees and reports as spreadsheets at any time, and a group with a technical volunteer can run Hi.Events on its own server, where there is no platform fee.
