5,000+ organizers trust Hi.Events

Cooking class booking.
Every date, every place, one page.

Hi.Events is cooking class booking software for cookery schools, chefs and food businesses. There's no monthly fee, just 1.25% + $0.60 per paid place. Pass the fee on and a guest booking a $75 class pays $3.03 less than on Eventbrite. The money goes into your own Stripe account as places sell.

Selling 400 places at $75? You'd keep $1,211 more than on Eventbrite.

Every class on one page

Pasta on Thursdays and bread on Saturdays, from one schedule. Each date has its own capacity, so a class of ten never takes an eleventh booking.

Know about allergies in advance

Ask about allergies and dietary needs for every guest at checkout, then read the answers on the class list before you shop.

Why organizers move to Hi.Events

We’ve used Hi.Events now for a few events and really love it. It’s also been fun to see improvements roll out as we go. We’re definitely never going back to Eventbrite.

§ 03 · Tickets

How a cookery school sets up its classes

One recurring event holds the regular classes, with a capacity of ten on each date. Courses, private bookings and special nights each get their own event.

  • Regular classes

A recurring schedule with a label on each class, such as "Fresh pasta" or "Thai street food", and a capacity for each.

  • Couples and friends

Two or more places in one order, so people who want to cook together book together.

  • Ingredients to take home

An add-on at checkout, such as a spice kit or a recipe book, with its own stock limit.

  • Allergies and diets

A mandatory registration question for each guest, answered before they can book.

  • Four-week course

A course as its own event, with one ticket for all four weeks.

  • Team-building and private groups

A hidden ticket that only a promo code unlocks. Companies can pay by bank transfer and get an invoice.

  • Full classes

A waitlist for each date. When someone cancels, the place is offered to the next person automatically.

Your colours, your photos, your menu.

Pick your colours and the whole booking page follows, from the header to the checkout button. The designer flags text that would be hard to read before a guest sees it.

§ 07 · FAQ

Before you open bookings

How much does it cost to sell cooking classes on Hi.Events?
There is no monthly fee and no contract. Paid places are 1.25% plus a small fixed amount per place: 60¢ in the US, €0.50 in the EU, 45p in the UK and A$0.85 in Australia. Free events cost nothing. You can pass the fee to the guest or absorb it, and Stripe charges its card processing separately. Card payments settle into your own Stripe account as places sell, on your Stripe payout schedule.See pricing →
Can I run several different classes from one booking page?
Yes. Create a recurring event and give each class a label, such as "Fresh pasta" or "Sourdough", and a time. Guests pick a date and a class and book a place on that date only. Each date keeps its own capacity, and you can change the price, capacity or times of any single class. Separate events work too, listed together on your organizer page.Recurring events →
How do I find out about allergies before the class?
Add a registration question, such as a dropdown of common allergies and a text box for anything else, and ask it once per guest rather than once per order. Make it mandatory and nobody can book without answering. Answers appear on each guest's record and in the guest list export, which downloads as a spreadsheet.Registration questions →
Can guests buy a kit or ingredients with their place?
Yes. Add-ons are products attached to a place or sold on their own, each with its own price and stock limit, so a spice kit, an apron or a recipe book can be added at checkout. Add-ons such as kits and aprons do not count toward a class's capacity. Only places do.Product add-ons →
Do you sell gift vouchers?
No. There are no gift cards or open-dated vouchers. Someone buying a class as a present can book a place on a date in the recipient's name, and change the name and email later from their order page.
Can companies book a private class and pay by invoice?
Yes. Create a hidden ticket for the group that only a promo code unlocks, and turn on offline payment so the company can pay by bank transfer. Turn on invoicing too and Hi.Events issues an invoice with the order. You mark it as paid when the money arrives.Offline payments →Invoices and receipts →
Can guests book on my own website?
Yes. The booking widget embeds class selection in a page on your own site with two snippets of code, and checkout opens over your page so guests never leave it. You also get a booking page in your own colours and an organizer page listing every class on sale.Embedding the ticket widget →
